Blooms, Bags and Buttons

Look at this beautiful plant which one of my neighbours very kindly gave me. All the other plants in the conservatory are now suffering from feelings of deep inadequacy.

The bag David uses to carry his portfolio and photobook samples around finally died from overuse last week and he asked if I could make him a new one. I did toy with the idea of making something very vintage and lacy, but I decided he wouldn't appreciate it, so I used a couple of funky furnishing fabrics I'd intended to make cushions out of instead.

If he decides the swinging London print is too much he'll just have to turn it inside out and use the boring manly stripe.
And I've been playing with buttons again. I made a couple of necklaces and a bracelet.

This one is my favourite. It was meant for the folksy shop, but actually I think I'm going to have a hard time letting it go...

Beautiful flower. Love the London fabric and your necklace is lovely and bright and will make a fun wear.

A very lovely bag

I like the bag, I'd use it!

The flower is amazing. We always buy both Grandmas an Amarylis for Christmas and they compete to see whose gets the most blooms. They are usually very spectacular!

Great plant, very vibrant colour.
David's bag is great, he'll be asked where he got it and you'll be getting orders for more!

Christine, your flowers are called Clivia's. Here we have them in the garden and they go rampant, although they don't like the heat much, so you need to put them in fairly deep shade. They bloom all the time and are very useful through winter.

Mm, I agree with Julie, you will! Hmm, Clivia, a new one to me.
