Here is my "reveal" for the February Challenge at Stitch and Stash The challenge this month was to stitch a design from Elisa's Passions on this link. I liked the DoDo design, but didn't think an extinct thing struck quite the right Valentine's chord for a February challenge, so I chose this little heart design, which I stitched over 1, using Carries Creation's Hearts on Fire.I finished it as a little brooch. Wish I'd put something in the picture to give an idea of scale.

. I actually bought two at the same time, if you look at the picture you will see that the 2nd one hasn't budged at all. I suspect it is mocking me.

The finish is super - and 1 over 1 wow! I haven't managed to get the hang of that at all!
Good Day to You....the Rouching around the edges was a very good idea....Don't you just LOVE visiting the Blogs and finding all the links to a world you didn't know existed.....I am collecting ornaments we are going to send to Australia in October to our stitching sisters who lost all they had in the fires. Actually the cutwork cloth under your heart does give a good indication of size. Your amaryllis is gorgeous. It and the other one currently average each other out. I am certain that in the future the other one will put in a very nice appearance.
The brooch is beautiful! Very nice finishing. I usually grow an amaryllis every xmas but the colour selections I find are limited. This one you've grown is very nice!

Your little brooch is gorgeous! Did you finish it on a form or are you that good about cutting a great heart shape. I have something I need to finish in a heart and I admit I'm feeling a bit nervous about doing it well. Now I'm inspired.
