Carnival Time!

Last weekend saw the annual village carnival and I thought I'd share  a few pictures.

Only at Carnival would you see a Roman Centurion waiting for an Electric bus.
Here is our car all dressed up and looking pretty ready for for the parade

We got third place in our class, but don't get too excited, there were only three entries.
And here is Naomi in her "Beached Mermaid" costume.

Let's have a close up look at the scale effect make up and the fishhook prosthetic she made

Gruesome huh?
She didn't win any prizes but I think maybe the idea was a little too "out there" for a small village carnival

Ouch! I can see it might have been a bit too much for the village elders!
The car looks nice though.

I liked her fish scale make up, the hook looks scary. Nice to know you had a fun weekend.

I love local carnivals, you usually manage to see something different. I think that Naomi's beached mermaid outfit was great, fishhook and all.

Hi Christine,
This is my first visit to your blog.
Totally love this ingenious costume! I'm not surprised she didn't win a prize, and Jo is right it would have been too hard for the elders to take! I think she should have won first prize! This is the type of picture I'd expect to see in a Viva magazine (published by the vegan campaigning group). Great costume!
