A Skirt, a Scarf, and a Journal

Here is Naomi modeling her new Super-Heroine skater skirt. (Fabric from the Girl Power range by Camelot Fabrics, I got mine from Plush Addict) I wanted her to do a "heroic stance" but apparently she is too cool for that. This photo, however, is Naomi-approved for publication on the interwebs. (And that reflection in the window is the nearest you're getting to a selfie around here.)

I finished the scarf I was knitting with the wool I got from Eloise for Christmas, and since it was a nice day I took it outside for a picture in the sunshine. Don't you think it has a snake like quality hanging in the eucalyptus tree?

And the beautiful new journal I bought from World of Shroo on Etsy.

How gorgeous is that? I'm almost afraid to write/draw in it.
It looks right at home with my seaglass and driftwood and my cheat's crochet pebbles. I say cheat's because I didn't crochet the covers myself. I've tried crochet, and I don't know what it is but I just can't get the hang of it. I can knock out a wonky granny square, or one of those apple cosies if I've got The Idiot's Guide to Crochet in front of me, but my brain just doesn't retain the information afterwards. So, yes, I cheat, I just get a tiny vintage crochet mat (about coaster size), run a gathering stitch round the edges,  pop a pebble in the middle and draw it up tight. Instant crochet pebble gratification without the tears.

That's a cool skirt in a fab bright colour just what were needing during these gloomy months. Your scarf has turned out well and I am not surprised you don't want to write in your new journal it is a thing of beauty. I think I too would want to just admire it but hope you do use it. Ali x

What a beautiful scarf and your daughter looks fabulous modeling her new skirt, Christine...

I can see why it would be difficult to write in that new journal, but just do it! I've had several things like that that I've "kept" for later and now I wish I had begun using them as soon as I got them :)
