Carry On My Wayward Son - The Sofa Edit

Warning:  This is not  going to mean a lot to you if you don't watch Supernatural

I saw on Pinterest where someone had embroidered a Supernatural anti-possession symbol onto flannel and mounted it in a hoop. I liked the idea of the embroidery but I'm not keen on the whole hoop-art thing so I adapted the idea, making a nine-patch square out of upcycled jeans and flannel (very Sam and Dean I thought), and here is the result
The Winchester Cushion.

This one is for Eloise, but I may make another.

Not Much to See for Gifted Gorgeousness in March

Gifted Gorgeousness is the blog hop organised by Jo of Serendipitous Stitching where we sho off our gift related crafting. Due to the fall of Birthdays and Easter there isn't a lot I can show here this month, but there is this plant, which was given to me by a neighbour a few years back, and is definitely gorgeous.

Also this little Liberty cord skirt I made myself, because the pattern (New Look 6843) was free with Sew magazine

That's about it for this month I'm afraid.

With Apologies to Edna Mode

Sorry Edna.

I made a cape.

Perhaps I should call it a wrap?
Pattern and wool tweed outer fabric from Cool Crafting; lining from a liberty Tana Lawn remnant, wooden buttons from EvilBay.
The next project was something I saw in Mollie Makes magazine, a magazine rack made from copper piping.

This was a joint effort between me and my husband. He did the cutting the copper pipes bit and I did the sewing the fabric bit.
And here is a spot of upcycling, This second hand enamel colander, that had seen better days and cost me less than a pound; is now a miniature succulent garden.
