Suggestions wanted

I've almost finished Coeur de Chat by Isa Vautier and I'm wondering what to put in the gap. It is charted to say "Bienvenue"
I'm fine with it being in French, not so sure about it meaning Welcome.
If I put that on it do I have to hang it by the front door (where it would be the wrong colours, and no-one would notice it anyway)?
If I don't put that, what can I put instead? Its already got my initials so my name wouldn't work, the date would be too small and I really don't want to go down the whole I love cats route...

    What about a row of hearts, or a couple of small mice, a yarn that the cats are batting back and forth to each other with a long thread wiggling out. A name or names of some special cats you have owned. Or the name and year span of a cat here and now passed.

    If it were mine I would stitch the French word for cats - chats - with a pawprint on either side. As for hanging - you can hang it anywhere it looks nice.

    Well, Vonna & Nancy "stole" my thought! LOL You could add a sleeping cat in the space too. Love this piece. Be sure to post your finsh so we can see what you decied.

    I was going to suggest something like "love lives here" but I really like Vonna's ideas as well. Or you could choose another word or phrase "peace" or "joy" etc.

    I would put the date, 2010 in big numbers, it's a very nice peice of work, where did you get the kit from please.

    You could stitch in "Bienvenue" and hang the finished design in or near the conservatory.

    I do love this piece & it will look lovely however you decide to finish it & wherever you hang it. Though I don't think you shopuld feel you have to hang it near the front door just because it means welcome.... we all welcome people into other parts of your homes too. :0)

    A one or two word adjective or verb for something you value such as Peace, Wisdom, Charity, Love, All is Calm, Serenity, Time Flies. Use an alphabet pattern book (french ones are pretty) that have different sized alphabets and check for free ones online. Hope this helps.

    Hmmm I stitch because I love to stitch and I love the piece there's never any consideration on where its going to go or what I'm going to do with it!!

    A really late suggestion (I just found your blog again today via TGOS blog). I made this sampler a few years ago and while I was stitching it out kitty left us for greener (chicken laiden) pastures. His name was Belvet (long story, but needless to say when my then 4 yr old DD talked me into getting him - we decided on the name Velvet, but Belvet was as close as DD could get with no front teeth at the time). 12 years later when I was also wondering what I could stitch in that "Bienvenue" spot, this became a memorial piece with "Belvet" centred between his DOB and expiry date. My DD loves it and has requested the 'dog' version for our since departed red healer ...
